DS Lite’s are selling out. If you want one then buy one, because leaving it until next week will be too late and the prices could be well near the £200 mark – and that’s just for the handheld console with no games. I speak from experience as this happened to me last Christmas and the whole (traumatic!) experience is what spurred me to build this site.
My shopping the last few years has all been online, I have no TIME at all as I am so busy working. Unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of time off for Christmas shopping so I rely solely on the internet. Last year I was under the illusion I had lots of time ‘online’ to do it. I meant to do my shopping late November and left it, then meant to do it first week of December and didn’t and then realised err…there wasn’t any DS stock anywhere (which wasn’t really a surprise as it was the week before Christmas). And no stock at the £100 I so wanted to pay.
In a mad panic I searched everywhere (shops and online – ended up using my precious time anyway) and couldn’t find a silver DS ANYWHERE at the price I wanted. Shops had no stock, and online… wherever I went had none either. I was feeling exhausted having to check all the sites constantly – not really how I wanted to spend my time – it’s boring and a waste of life to be quite honest with you.
I ended up paying over £150 for a Silver DS from PlayTrade (because they were nearly £200 on Amazon) on it’s own with no games. It was annoying, especially as I had to fork out even more for games BUT my 7 year old brother was over the moon Christmas Day, and seeing him play with ‘Luke’ his Nintendog and the joy on his little face as he gave his puppy a bath and stroked it’s head, really made it all worthwhile.
What wasn’t worthwhile was the time and energy spent trawling sites over and over just to find stock. And the panic wasn’t particularly pleasant either, especially as I knew it was my own fault for leaving it too late – it didn’t make the thought of disappointing my little baby bro on Christmas Day when I PROMISED a Silver DS to him any easier I can tell you!
And lo and behold, the idea for NintendoDSstockists.co.uk was born! There’s more to life then spending hours looking for a DS Lite and hopefully I have made that easier for you this Christmas.
We search over 40 major online retailers every day to find new stock, our info is updated every minute. You won’t see all the merchants listed in the Stock Locators because some of the merchants don’t even have DS’s listed on their sites so we won’t list them on the page for the sake of it.
Just know that the available stock you see on this site are the results back from over 40 online shops – that stock is what is available NOW.
Moral of the story is: Don’t leave it too much longer, because as supply decreases the price will increase. The prices for solus DS Lite’s have increased already – but there is still time and still some great bundles out there. You basically have this week before the silly prices next week.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
