I looked everywhere for Prof. Layton at a decent price (amazon were charging £55). It was sold out everywhere I looked and I was just about ready to abandon the search and wait until January to buy the game. That was until I stumbled across your website. Thank you so much – have ordered the game at a very reasonable price (£30) and free delivery. (Can’t believe amazon are now charging £79! – it’s crazy).

This site is amazing keeps you up to date straight away I managed to get professor layton when it just came back in stock. 5 minutes later it was sold out again. Very pleased I found this site or I would not have got this game at all.

I watched this site on and off for over an hour with no stock availability for Professor Layton. Amazon appeared at £31.98 and I bought it. Ten minutes later the price had rocketed for further sales to £64.99 plus £4.99 postage. In all fairness to Amazon, my purchase came direct from them and the subsequent were advertised via them from Express Games. What a great shopper site.

Don’t know shether to cancel order now and get from elsewhere or just be patient and hopefully will turn up. Really happy with site though, have added to favorites and have told my friends to try it out too!

Been trying to get Professor Layton game but sold out everywhere. Amazon £48 and Play.com a whopping £55. I stumbled upon your site and I have just ordered 2 at £32 each from Littlewoods. Should have read testimonials first but hey I still feel this is a great price – so long as they are in stock and arrive!!

Finally! Have been looking for this EVERYWHERE! I don’t care about paying a fiver more as long as I have it – which I have now. Amazon are charging 60 quid for it which if course is ridiculous, but £35 for piece of mind this Christmas is perfect for me.

Have tried all high street retailers and their internet sites, to no avail and refused to pay the £48.99 amazon wanted. Used a similar site last year to trace a wii console and was successful, so thank you very much for pointing me in the direction of yesasia.com. Never heard of them before, so hope it turns up!

I used the pop up facility and was subsequently informed that stock was available at AMAZON. I was able to order there and then at £29.99,and well done AMAZON it arrived the next day (today!)BRILLIANT WEBSITE AND A LIFE SAVER!!!!!!

I used the pop up facility and was subsequently informed that stock was available several times on vaious sites, Had the game in my basket more than 5 times but unfortunately as the checkout was so slow lost ity before the sale finalised – very annoying. Apparently the pink is one of the hardest to get hold of!
You’ve not got them on here, but I got my pink DS on Monday from Morrisons. In the section where they stock the games, etc. you just take the DS DVD-style box to the desk and they fetch one from the warehouse. Very easy and a decent price at £99.

Comet: I order professor layton from comet 6.30 am on 3rd December received a confirmation email, and then a cancellation email stating they were out of stock. however their site showed stock. i phoned them and they told me it was postcode dependant, this is NOT fair

This is a great site. After having 3 orders accepted and then cancelled by littlewoods, play and currys I finally managed to reserve and collect in store at currys. However I actually needed two and although I reserved two and had two seperate reservation codes when I arrived at the store they only had one game. Before I drove the 15 miles to pick them up I rang the Currys customer service who told me if you have the reservation codes the games will be there to collect. They werent. I asked them for the store number to call them direct they said they didnt have one. However they do have a direct number and I would advise you to ring direct to the store to confirm they do have it in stock first. I consider myself lucky to have got one game and a goodwill gesture of a a ten pound voucher. So good luck to all of you who are still looking.

Had an order accepted by Play last night when it came up on your site that they had stock, just phoned as order still saying “order accepted” to be told no stock and possibly won’t be any before Christmas.
It’s appaling that these companys can advertise stock they don’t have, take your payment details and then just sit on them.

I was so excited when your site said that they had some in stock last week. I checked the site and it said stock available so I placed my order immediately. The item was not available for collection at my local stores. I received my thank you for your order acknowledgement e-mail. I checked my e-mails next day to see if my confirmation notice had arrived and there was nothing. I rang Currys on the number listed on the acknowledgement e-mail to be told she did not know why but my order had been cancelled! I shall check my credit card statement next month for the refund. And all this despite the fact that your site said that they had received stock later on that evening! I am not impressed with Currys!

ordered two copies of professor layton on the 2/12/08 with play.com recieved confirmation email to say that orders had been placed. checked the status of order the following day said awaiting stock, have just telephoned play and was told that they will not be recieving anymore stock of the game.

I think this site is excellent… but as you said, you can only publish what the companies say they have stock wise.! I’ve been waiting ages to get my hands on this game as a Christmas present (but not that desperate to pay what some traders on Amazon are charging!)
Anyway, call it luck a friend of mine works at Heathrow airport and I asked him check stock for me. HMV Terminal 5 had them today.!! Couldnt believe it. £30 a bargin. He said they had a few so if your local get over there now!!

Great site – thank you. I was looking for three copies of Professor Layton in vain when I found your site. As you say, several companies say they have stock when they don’t – I had orders at gamestation.co.uk and gameplay.co.uk for several days, both of which claimed to have stock but didn’t. Same with Littlewoods. I tried PCWorld when your site said they had stock and my order seemed to go through and I did the same at Play.com, intending to cancel one order as soon as the other confirmed shipment. Of course, they both ended up shipping on the same day so I ended up with 6 of them. I’m now selling two of them on eBay (brand new, shrink wrapped, so they should sell for more than I paid).

I have emailed Play to see why they keep listing them as available when they clearly aren’t. I’m hopeful that I have one on its way from Game for £48.91 – bought in a bundle but part of bundle can be returned so it will only cost £29 ish. Still more than Play but does say available for immediate dispatch so I am quite hopeful. And if it doesn’t come, well it’s only a game at the end of the day!
I agree with Phil, thanks for the site – it’s great to check in one place rather than looking everywhere for it!

Hi, Just thought I’d let you all know that I placed an order for 2 of this game with Play.com and received a confirmation email saying they’ve received my order. Since then my status has switched between ‘awaiting stock’ and ‘on order’. As I’ve got a bit sick of just waiting, I’ve just come off the phone to one of the managers, a Mr Jamie Hughes, who tells me they are not getting any stock before Xmas. When I asked him why their website frequently has this game come back into stock he says if that’s the case then it’s a web error and everyone that’s got the game on order will shortly be getting an email saying they’re not going to receive it before Xmas. They didn’t even know that the system keeps putting it back into stock!!! I also told him that he needs to get his tech guys to have a look at this error as it’s not fair on everyone that thinks they’ve been successful in placing their orders. Hope this helps.

Ordered from Game.com this morning, received an e-mail from them this afternoon to say the order had been cancelled as the bank declined authorisation of my card, went online and checked and surprise……! out of stock again!, tried to call them as I knew there was no problem with the card and was hanging on the line for FORTY minutes, had to hang up and tried them again tonight but just got message saying their office was now closed, checked with bank and as I thought, no problem with card or account! I have now e-mailed Game to call me to try and sort this out…..not holding my breath though! I have tried to place an order through Zavvi, Littlewoods Direct, Play.com and now Game.com and been let down by them all, still awaiting refund from Littlewoods although they say they paid it into account yesterday,getting thoroughly fed up now and think I’ll just forget it!

I feel that now I won’t get one until Jan at the earliest (at a sensible price). The tragic thing is I had one in my hands in October, but thought I would leave it until nearer to Christmas – I never anticipated there would be such demand for it.

I discovered through your site Littlewoods Direct had ‘Professor Layton’ in stock and happily placed an order and recieved confirmation of delivery by 8 Dec. A friend placed an order 6 days later and again got confirmation of order and a delivery date of 14 Dec. Now I am told delivery will take 8 weeks from now. The reason for the delay is by the time my order reached the warehouse they were out of stock! It takes 6 days for an order to be processed? And if it were out of stock then why were they still advertising it as in stock when my friend placed their order? This is False Advertising and should not be allowed. Moral: avoid Littlewoods Direct!

i just ordered 2 copies of the game this morning and got a confirmation that my order was in the process of disbatchin from currys soooooo helpful especially the music alerts as it made me look staight away. i must say it took me several days to be able to get hold of one and now i have two i am happy happy happy due to get the game delivered on 17th dec in time for christmas but time wil tell. great website i will definalty going to be using you again and will suggest other people to use it.

I’ve been going from store to store for a DS and it has been the same answer – all out of stock both in the store AND the warehouse.
Luckily i phoned my local game store and they had a DS starter pack with brain training for £117 so i grabbed one while i could, so if you’re having trouble getting one online i HIGHLY recommend you call your local game and gamestation stores to see if they have any in.
Have to say – this website is awesome! I’m on the hunt for the Professor Layton game so am constantly using this to check if stock comes in. Figures crossed we all manage to get our hands on what we want!

Oh and in regard to games – if you’re wondering why its so hard to get hold of games in a few store (esp the supermarkets) its because their supplier is the same person who supplies woolworths and that company has gone into administration…or so a guy at Asda told me today…so they are unlikely to get more copies of certain games in, like the highly sort Professor Layton which i’m trying to get my hands on.

This is a superb website and is really showing up the shortcomings of some of the major suppliers out there!
Ordered Prof. Layton from PC World yesterday afternoon. Over 24 hours later, I receive the cancellation notice as item is out of stock.
Phoned to complain on two fronts – having taken my order, why did it take so long to confirm actual non-availability and why was item showing as being in stock again earlier this afternoon.
Operative could not answer either question and blamed their own website for showing incorrect information.
So, anybody who thinks they have secured the item from PC World, don’t hold out too many hopes – they are a shambles!
Oh well, on with the quest…

PC World: ordered this game yesterday when it was available. now have received email saying it is out of stock. my cancellation email came at 4.37pm, even though between 2.47 & 3.10 they were again taking orders for this game & showing as stock available!! naughty, naughty. very annoyed as thought I had finally finished the christmas list. good luck to anyone else trying to get this much wanted game. merry christmas. shelley

same here, I ordered with PCWorld yesterday, which took an age due to inputting debit card details etc – I do shop with them but usually reserve for pickup in store – & this evening I get an email to say they were out of stock.
Whilst I do appreciate that perhaps it’s due to a lag in their online system, I think they should be offering people who have ordered in good faith the opportunity to wait for the next available stock.

I have had same experience with Currys- taking order then saying its cancelled over 24 hours later- They should let us be on a waitlist for first pickings of next stock- very bad 4 consumer relations. I will be avoiding them like the plague after this experience.

I also ordered and thought I had finished my shopping yesterday…….Ordered Prof Layton from Currys and it took them 48 hrs to email to say out of stock!!! Am disgusted and disappointed with them, I was so delighted thinking I’d secured an order and my little boy was getting his top present but sadly not now

BEWARE PLAY.COM STOCK ISSUES!
I have now made a second order through play.com (thanks to your great site) this morning.
This is after they cancelled my first order (from 14th Dec) 24 hours later with no warning (I only noticed because I happened to be in my account). A few minutes later it came back in stock, so I ordered it again.
An hour later I received an email regarding my original order to say that the item was out of stock and that it wouldn’t be available again for the forseeable future so my order was cancelled!! Needless to say I have emailed to ask why it is that the item was almost immediately back in stock on their site after they told me it would not be back and cancelled my order! Utterly unacceptable behaviour this close to Christmas!

Ordered Prof Layton as they were showing availability on your great stock list and it’s arrived today – great I thought….. but it’s not the Prof Layton cover on the box as you’re showing and as they were advertising when I ordered it. It’s a cartoon picture similar to the ones you can find readily on e bay! Is it the same game? Feel a bit cheated and inclined to return it.

@Annette: Hi Annette, don’t worry. There are two covers – one is the UK version and the other the US. It will work exactly the same – it’s the same game. Where did you buy it from?

Having been duped by P C World, I then placed an order for Prof Layton through Play but they seem to be up to the same tricks re stock availability.
I was informed that product is ’sold out’ and they have no idea when further supplies will be available.
It is, apparently, a website fault that keeps showing item as being in stock.
Still, my quest is now over as our local Gamestation actually received a delivery today.
In spite of all the ‘red herrings’ from the online suppliers, my thanks to this website for all their efforts.

Thanks for your reply Chantel(admin). Bought it from SimplyGames on Fri pm thanks to the stock locator. Apprehensive and in haste I ordered another copy today from Game. As both my sons have Prof Layton on their Christmas lists will keep both copies and hopefully have 2 happy children! Thanks

Thanks guys for creating this site, being trying track down professor layton for almost two months now. Decided i would order from playasia but they told me the stock was delayed till 2009
So checked on stock tracker today and noticed dixons had some in stock. I ordered it and hopefully it will arrive before christmas, checked your site after i ordered it and it said dixons was now out of stock! must of got the last one haha. Thankyou very much.

I also ordered the game from Dixons today when the stock checker showed they had the game in stock. I received a confirmation email but I’ve been stung before so called their customer services who told me that it was actually out of stock and I would have to wait until they got another delivery. BE AWARE! You might want to give Dixons a call if you ordered from them today.

I just want to say to those looking for the Professor Layton game don’t give up, I like most of you have had numerous orders cancelled by different companies but finally on the 15th Dec I ordered two games from Argos and they arrived today! This site is great and I will definitely be using it in the future, good luck to those who are still looking

Thanks to this great site I have managed to secure a copy of Prof Layton without having to pay the silly prices being charged on eBay etc.
Looking at previous messages I cautiously ordered from Dixon’s yesterday 17/12 mid morning fully expecting the “sorry its out of stock” email but I am glad to say that it arrived this afternoon 18/12. Now that’s what I call speedy service and delivery. I will now have a very happy child on Christmas Day!.

What a fantastic site! After ordering from Dixons, Currys and PC World (and getting emails hours later saying ’sorry out of stock’) I managed to order a copy from Game on Monday. I expected the ’sorry out of stock’ email but was delighted when I got one with a tracking number. The game arrived today (Thursday) and I will have a very happy daughter on Christmas day, thanks guys.

Following a stock alert from this site, I ordered a copy for £24.95 from Dixons on Wednesday morning, it was delivered yesterday afternoon by DHL.
I will have one surprised & happy daughter next week!

I ordered with play on the 15th of dec when the site said it was in stock, but in my order summary it still says awaiting stock. I was in Manchester city centre yesterday and nipped into game on the off chance they had stock and luckily they did! So i bought one for £29.99. I’d highly recommend finding out when the big stores are due to have deliveries and just call them and reserve one shortly after their delivery has arrived. I’ve cancelled my order with play because it obviously won’t arrive in time for chrimbo and i don’t need it anymore! Good luck to all those who don’t have a copy yet.

I ordered my copy of Professor Layton from Game on Tuesday 16th Dec. I ordered it in a pack with More Brain Training. Both games arrived yesterday Sat 20th. I was kept up to date with my order with emails. I am over the moon, its the only thing I wanted for Christmas. Thank you Game.

just to let u know if anyone is lookin for one in the norwich area morrisons had loads of stock in of the game today i happily recieved one for christmas after mum managed to get two after tescos had stock in but if anyone is still lookin morrisons!!!! its a great games so worth the hassle.

Ordered from YESASIA on Dec11th – delivery date given for 23rd December. Game didnt arrive. Email to say there did not have stock and a refund given. Wasted a lot of time waiting for the game!
