Nintendo’s confirmed that the third iteration of its DS handheld, the DSi, will launch in the States on April 5, and a European release date surely can’t be far away now! Coming in blue and black models upon its U.S. release, the DSi will cost $169.99, which is about $40 more than the DS Lite currently retails for. When the Nintendo Exec Vice President of sales says something you’d better listen and Cammie Dunaway has a thing or two to say about the DS Lite. She maintains that the DS Lite will not be replaced by the DSi and instead the two consoles will co-exist in hand held gaming harmony.

OK we all knew it was coming but now it’s 100% official, the successor to the DS Lite has been announced and it’s name is the Nintendo DSi.

Details are thin on the ground and it may yet prove to be mere conjecture but it seems that the DS is possibly due for a refit. The story began in Japanese business newspaper ‘Nikkei’ so you would imagine it has some degree of credibility, it reports that an upcoming DS model is going to duke it out with Apple’s all conquering iPhone and similar mobile devices.

Nintendo have just announced details of a new look DS lite that will not only provide you with years of entertainment but will also help in the fight against Cancer. The console comes in Polar White with the famous ‘Pink Ribbon’ breast cancer awareness logo on the right hand side it boasts all the great features that you would associate with the DS lite and is also contributing to a very good cause.

Nintendo have unveiled their official DS Lite Bundles, they will be available from October the 27th across the UK meaning you have plenty of time to decide which colour/game combination you want Santa to drop down your chimney this Christmas!
